Employment-Based Green Card – December 2022 Bulletin

It’s been a roller coaster of a ride for Employment-Based Green Card applicants this month. In the Final Action Dates Chart, we see that EB-2 has taken a step back to retrogress for all countries. While this might be an unwelcome surprise, there is some good news!

EB-3 India and China both take a step forward, and there is minor movement in the Dates for Filing Chart too. Who knows what the future will bring for the EB-3 applicants, but at least there’s some positive movement in December.

For those of you who don’t know, the Final Action Dates Chart determines when an I-485 or IV can be approved, while the Dates for Filing Chart determines when an applicant can file an I-485. It’s always important to be aware of both charts and the changes each month to ensure you don’t miss out.

According to the December 2022 Visa Bulletin, employment dates for filing will be as follows:

EB 1: Current status will be maintained for all countries, including India and China.
EB 2: All the countries, except China and India, will be on December 1, 2022. China will remain on July 8, 2019, and India will stay on May 1, 2012.
EB 3: All the countries will remain at current, including Central America and Mexico. While China moves to September 1, 2018, and India moves to August 1, 2012.
